What your neighbourhood team has been up to this week Your local neighbourhood officers have continued to work proactively across the area this week, responding to concerns raised by residents, tackling crime, and positively engaging with the community. 🚫 Operation Flash – Anti-Social Behaviour patrols Officers have been carrying out ongoing patrols in Crosskeys as part of Operation Flash, following reports of youths riding bikes in an anti-social manner. Patrols took place throughout the week, with officers engaging with those involved to educate, deter, and prevent further incidents, while providing reassurance to residents. 🤝 Positive youth engagement Local PCSO Sam Evans was put to the test at Trinant Community Centre, engaging with local young people in a friendly game of dodgeball. This positive interaction helped build trust and strengthen relationships between young people and the police. 🚗 Operation Atal – Road safety enforcement Operation Atal continued this week with officers monitoring 153 vehicles. As a result: 27 drivers were educated about their speed2 Traffic Offence Reports were issued1 ticket was issued by post1 driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving 🚓 Stolen vehicle recovered Eagle‑eyed officers identified and seized a stolen vehicle that had been taken from the local area, preventing further criminal use. 🏍️ Operation Circuit – Tackling off-road bike ASB Following key information provided by local residents, the neighbourhood team were able to track down two off‑road bikes that had been causing anti-social behaviour in Pantside. Both bikes were seized, addressing ongoing concerns in the area. 👥 Community connection initiative PCSO James Deykes has been actively integrating with the community, young and old. He has helped establish “Stories and Spaces”, an intergenerational initiative bringing together young people and residents from the Newbridge area to connect generations, spark conversation, and celebrate the community they live in. 🚔 Wanted person arrested Officers also tracked down and arrested a male wanted on recall to prison, ensuring he was safely returned to custody.
